About the Festival

Conceived by Steve Ansell (Artistic Director, Screaming Media) GI60 is the worlds first and only Interactive, International Theatre Festival. The festival is produced in association with Leeds Met University and Brooklyn College New York with support from BBC Big Screen and Leeds University.

Each year the festival premieres one hundred brand new one minute plays; fifty in the U.K and fifty in the U.S. All one hundred plays are recorded and made available on our web site for at least one year. All plays are recorded in MP4 format for ease of viewing and download.

GI60 celebrates new writing by providing a creative platform that allows anybody with an internet connection the opportunity be involved. If you have something to say, an idea to share or just want to try something new then why not write a play. GI60 is open to anybody and submitting a play couldn’t be easier.
